Faculty In Residence

faculty in residence program

We are proud to announce the six UNC Faculty members that will be living in the residence halls with our students for the 2009-2010 academic year. Each instructor will be assigned into a different hall for the academic year. The faculty members are:

  • Mary Angeline - instructor of English and chair of the Rosenberry Writers Conference
  • Matt Birnbaum - Assistant professor in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership
  • Lyda Ellis - Instruction librarian and Assistant professor of University Libraries
  • Diane Gaede - Associate professor in Recreation and Tourism
  • Lee Anne Peck - Associate professor in Journalism and Mass Communications
  • Gary Swanson - the Mildred S. Hansen Endowed Chair in Journalism.

"The program provides opportunities for unique relationships and adds a vibrant social and intellectual community outside of the classroom," said Jenna Finley, Director of Residence Life. "It's also another way to showcase our approachable faculty who serve as professional and person role models to our students." (as quoted to Nate Haas)
