BIOTA Residential Learning Community

What does BIOTA stand for?

The answer is: Biology Is your Opportunity To Acheive.

The BIOTA program is for students who have applied and been accepted to the University BIOTA Program. In Fall 2009, the community will be in the New West Campus Residence Hall North building on the first floor.

Activities for the community will complement the BIOTA curriculum and offer opportunities for out-of-class learning experiences and social interaction. The floor will be staffed by a Resident Assistant who is also a member of the BIOTA Program. Opportunities for students living on this floor will include:

  • Being in a community with other students in the BIOTA Program
  • Interactions with faculty involved with BIOTA in settings outside the classroom
  • Opportunities to participate in BIOTA events and activities
  • In-hall academic advising and other support services

Students interested in this community must apply and be accepted into the BIOTA program. Please contact the Biological Sciences Department at (970) 351-2921 or visit the BIOTA webpage for scholarship opportunities and general information.
